Natural History Field Quarter Executive Committee
The Natural History Field Quarter (NHFQ) Executive Committee oversees the continued offering of NHFQ each year. This committee meets at least twice a year to review and make decisions on expenditures from the NHFQ endowment. Other responsibilities include:
- Preparing an annual budget and deciding which funding priorities will be pursued each year.
- Conducting an annual program evaluation of the course
- Submitting an annual report about NHFQ to the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, covering endowment expenditures, program evaluation, course activities, progress toward annual plans, accomplishments, recommendations for subsequent years, and funding needs.
Currently the NHFQ Executive Committee consists of:
Andrew Szasz, Norris Center Faculty Director and professor of Environmental Studies at UCSC
Chris Lay, Norris Center Administrative Director and NHFQ instructor
Breck Tyler, ENVS lecturer and veteran NHFQ instructor
Jenny Keller, representative from the Friends of the Norris Natural History Programs
Erika Perloff, representative from the Friends of the Norris Natural History Programs
