Winter 2018 Workshops

The following art/natural history workshops are open to both students and community members.  All participants must register online for the workshops. There are separate registrations for both students and community members. Space is limited so register right away.

Relief Printmaking with Emily Underwood

Saturday February 10, 2018 10am-4pm at the Norris Center

heron-printThis workshop will introduce techniques for linoleum-block printmaking that you can do at home, without a press. Draw inspiration from the natural history collection at the Norris Center, or bring your own images or artwork you would like to transfer to a print. No prior experience needed.

Suminagashi Marbling with Ruth Bosco

Sunday March 4, 2018  10am-4pm at the Norris Center

marbling-workshopThis workshop will introduce the Japanese art of ink marbling to create nature inspired monoprints on paper, silk, wood, concrete, and more! Participants will leave with paper prints and a hand-dyed silk scarf. No prior experience is needed.
