Norris Center Internships

Internships are available for 2 units (6 hours per week). We offer internships for 5 units (12 hours per week), if you have already completed an internship with the Norris Center in the past.

Courses supported by the Norris Center

The Norris Center is able to fund or or partially fund a variety of courses with the very generous support of donors.

The Norris Center also assists with and supports courses by lending field equipment, teaching labs, providing specimens, and more!

Natural History Field Quarter

Started by Ken Norris in 1973, Natural History Field Quarter is a 15-unit Environmental Studies class taught each spring quarter. While camping at UC’s Natural Reserves, the class focuses on California natural history and land management. Graduates gain career skills relevant to field ecology, education, science illustration, writing, and environmental policy & management. Applications are required and scholarships are available. The class is open to ALL majors.
